My brother gave me a smoothie maker for Christmas, and I simply love it. This morning I made a really great one following an exhausting swim workout. I needed some protein. Kale is a great source of protein.
I tore up some purple kale leaves, blended it together with some frozen blueberries, 1/3 of an avocado, almond milk, and a teaspoon of honey.
Note that you can use green kale leaves for a green smoothie. The purple leaves make a lot of color difference! Delicious, healthy, filling, and did I mention delicious?
Total prep time, 10 minutes.
3/4 cup kale
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/3 of avocado
1/3 cup almond milk
1 teaspoon of honey
Makes 1 serving.
